Health and Safety Risk Assessment Refresher -Online

Course Content

The course focuses on:

• understanding the legislative and company structure for managing and assessing risk.
• understanding individual responsibilities for managing and assessing risk.
• understanding and using a JSA/JHA and the risk assessment matrix.
• demonstrating and using the correct forms and procedures for reporting hazards and assessing risk.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

• demonstrate knowledge of the principles of risk assessment process (identify, assess, control, monitor and review).
• identify hazards and assess risk
• identify control measures to manage the risk.
• show knowledge of how you should monitor or review controls (manage risk).

Course structure

The course is delivered online and includes topics that you work through at your own pace before you undertake the formal assessment.

After you contact Wood Training or book the course, we will send you a confirmation email with a link to the course and a self-enrolment key.  You will be prompted in the system to set up a profile with information that we need for your enrolment.

You will need to have:

• Access to a computer and stable internet
• An email address

Course prerequisites

Must hold Unit Standard 30265 or equivalent that is deemed acceptable by Wood Training.

Assessment process

Theory assessment which takes place when the student is ready. This is a short online quiz.

Revalidation/Refresher

To maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher training occurs regularly.  Depending on the industry you work in this may vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every two years.
