This course is designed to meet requirements of the basic offshore safety induction and emergency training for oil and gas industry personnel. The learning outcomes are identical to BOSIET (with EBS). In order for learners to better prepare for, and progress to the practical session at the training centre, the online component includes a range of multi media including safety orientated videos.

The theory component is undertaken online by the student, prior to attendance at our centre to undertake formal theory assessment before undertaking practical demonstrations. Students are assessed continuously during the course. If a student is deemed not competent, the process for reassessment will be advised by the instructor.
Digital learning must be completed in full before students attend the practical day. (Practical must be undertaken within 90 days of completing all online elements.)
Prior to undertaking the course we must be provided with a copy of one of the following:
Medicals to be received no later than 48 hrs before course commencement.
Valid for 4 years. Must be renewed within 4 years prior to expiry date otherwise a full BOSIET is required.
A current Medical Certificate accompanied by a Wood Training Medical Self Declaration and Screening form, OR GP-signed Wood Training Medical Self Declaration and Screening form is MANDATORY prior to course commencement. All students participating in this course which has physically demanding and potentially stressful elements must be physically and mentally capable of participating fully.

The Offshore Industry is implementing the use of CA-EBS for travel by helicopter. Holders of a current BOSIET/FOET with EBS will require an OPITO Dry CA-EBS Initial Deployment Training certificate. Contact us to discuss if you require supplementary training.
Coming from a business background, Ryan worked in the offshore industry before moving onshore to pursue a career as a fire and marine trainer. He has Emergency Care, Fire and Rescue qualifications as well as in the areas of Adult Education and Training. Ryan volunteers his time to work with St John Ambulance as an ambulance officer and as a senior fire fighter with Fire Emergency New Zealand. Ryan stands out as a well-rounded emergency response professional with experience across multiple areas.
Instructing in First Aid from mid-2006, Jon is an experienced first aid instructor. Jon’s sense of humour and on the job stories ensure engaging and relevant training whenever he delivers. Jon has extended his safety training skills over the years now also delivers our Helicopter Underwater Escape Training courses and continues to deliver training with freshness and relevance
Steve’s background includes serving with the Royal Marines Commando, a teacher of Art and Design, Fire Fighter (NZFS), Ship Security Officer maintaining security. His personal passion lies with mountaineering and climbing, bringing valuable rope skills and rescue to the Industrial rope access industry. Steve has a strong understanding of teams working under high pressure in high hazard and high stress environments. He holds a postgraduate Certificate in Education as well as qualifications in Training, Assessment, Rope Access and Occupation and Health and Safety.
