This course provides the student with the knowledge and skills required to safely undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities required when taking charge of a survival craft on an offshore installation.

The course is a combination of a small amount of theory as it is largely a practical course. Students will be sent pre learning in the form of course notes to refresh their knowledge. Students are assessed continuously during the course.
A current medical certificate as a reasonable level of fitness is required for this course. This includes being able to use a ladder with a reasonable level of flexibility; and able to
operate a boat safely. We must receive this document no later than 48 hours before course commencement. If not received within this timeframe you may be declined entry to the course. This
decision will be taken on a case by case basis. You must have successfully completed the full 2-day Coxswain course.
You must complete the pre-learning before the course.
Theory session is followed by practical assessment which takes place when the student is ready/has shown that theycan perform all tasks required. The assessment will involve mustering, boarding, launching and handling of a survival craft.
To maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher training occurs regularly. Depending on the industry you work in this may vary. Wood Training recommend this is done annually.
A MEDICAL is MANDATORY prior to course commencement.
