This online course provides students with knowledge of basic work- place safety, an understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the skills needed to then apply key principles in the workplace. It will also provide an overview on the responsibilities of people in the workforce including steps to take to ensure the safety of themselves and others. Given a scenario students will be able to complete a job safety analysis.

Competency in US 497, US 17593 and additional Job Safety Analysis component in this course at Wood Training will be accepted as meeting the hazard management prerequisite for our Common Permit to Work training.
Students must be in work.
It consists of online learning modules that you work through at your own pace. At the very end of the course there are summative assessment tasks.
To maintain current competency, it is recommended that refresher training occurs regularly. Depending on the industry you work in this may vary. Current Wood Training recommendation is every two years.
