I have worked with Wood Group for the past 11years and have found their training to be of a very high standard.
I have used the company for both First Aid and Fire training for drivers from the Petroleum Industry.
The First Aid training involved between seven or eight hours of classroom work and an afternoon doing accident scenarios. Although the classroom work could have been very difficult for tanker drivers used to outside work the presenters managed to make the lessons interesting enough to hold the drivers attention through the whole day. The scenarios were held in workplace like surroundings and were truly realistic. These sessions were carried out with patients who were familiar with trauma situations and able to act out their parts realistically. The learning achieved in the scenarios was truly remarkable.
The fire training consisted of about a two hour classroom session then two BP hour practical training on a fire pad specifically designed for this purpose. I know of no other training facility in New Zealand where this sort of training can be carried out. For an industry where fire is a possible outcome this sort of training is invaluable.
It has been a pleasure to work with trainers with such a professional attitude and ability.
